Group visits

We welcome visiting groups, however it’s essential to book in advance with The Abbey Administrator. If a funeral or similar event occurs, we will contact you and arrange a different time. We suggest a donation of £3 per person towards the upkeep of this beautiful church.

The coach drop-off point is outside the Abbey Gift Shop, offering postcards, guide books and a range of souvenirs and gifts to suit every pocket. Special discounts on bulk purchase of guide books can be arranged for groups. Please ask the Abbey Administrator in advance of your visit, or enquire at the shop when you arrive.

Visitors to the Abbey are also welcome to enjoy ‘The Big Story’, our interactive exhibition bringing to life the history of the Abbey. This is free of charge.

Guided tours are available by arrangement. We offer one or more expert guides to take you round, depending on the size of your group. Tours of the Abbey usually take about one hour, and we make a charge of £4.50 per person, which is paid on arrival.

Our new café, The Refectory, can prepare special meals or teas in advance for visiting groups, and reserve a space for your group in our newly refurbished Priory Buildings.
