Join us in worship

At the heart of life is our worship of God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God’s presence through our worship nourishes our lives, draws together our community, and challenges us to go out and be of service in both the mundane and the extraordinary situations of our lives. We would be delighted if you could join us in worship for any of our services. Communicant members of all Christian Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.

Usual Services (unless otherwise stated)

Sunday
8:30am	Holy Communion (a simple service with sermon but no hymns, lasting about 45 minutes)
10am	Parish Communion (with hymns, usually with choir except on 1st Sunday in month, when we have a more informal service – Abbey Praise)
11:45am	Holy Communion from The Book of Common Prayer (only on first Sunday in the month)
6.30pm	Evensong (choral in school term-time, otherwise Said Evensong with hymns)

At the 10 o’clock service the children join the opening procession in order to go out to our various Junior Church groups: Sunday Tots for crèche age to Reception, Sunday Gang for Reception to Year 4, and Sunday Club for Years 5 to 8.

After service refreshments

Parish Breakfast is served in the South Choir Aisle following the 8:30 am Holy Communion service. Tea, coffee and juice is served in the South Transept following the 10:00 am Service. We hope you will be able to join us.

Home Communions

If you are unable to join us for services in the Abbey, our Clergy and Lay Eucharistic Ministers may be able to bring communion to your home once a month. Please contact the Parish Office if this would be of help to you.

New to the Parish

If you are new to the Parish, please ask one of the Sidespersons for an address card so that we can add your details to our parish list and invite you to one of our regular events for new members. If you are visiting the Abbey, we hope you will enjoy your time with us. Please come and say hello, either to the Clergy or to a Churchwarden.
